Problem

I’m interested in how preceding environmental conditions relate to fire activity and ecosystem response across different regions.

Approach How I thought about it

  • I’m developing questions about lagged environmental predictors, soil moisture and precipitation history, land-surface conditions, and cross-region generalization.
  • Candidate methods include generalized additive models, random forests, gradient-boosted trees, temporal validation, and feature importance.

Results

  • Planned

Research direction and proposal development. Future analyses, findings, and manuscripts are not completed.

Tools

  • Proposed: interpretable machine learning
  • Proposed: time-series analysis
  • Proposed: remote-sensing data integration
